Privacy Policy

Dearly Learned is a parent-managed early-learning service designed to use limited child information, avoid advertising and tracking, and keep parents in control.

Who Uses Dearly Learned

Parents and caregivers hold authenticated adult accounts. Children use profiles created and managed inside an adult's family account; children do not receive independent accounts, email addresses, or public profiles.

Information We Use

  • Adult account: email address, account identifier, family name, membership role, appearance preference, and recorded consent.
  • Child profile: first name, whole-number age, grade, generic animal avatar, favorite color, optional PIN-enabled state, and an internal profile identifier.
  • Learning progress: completed symbols, answer results, attempt counts, stage completion, last-played information, and queued synchronization events.
  • Operations and security: limited session identifiers, audit records, support-access records, and a random app-scoped device event identifier used to prevent duplicate progress events.

Information We Do Not Request

Dearly Learned does not ask for a child's birthday, email address, photo, voice recording, contacts, precise location, payment data, or advertising identifier. There are no ads, behavioral tracking, third-party analytics, social posting, child chat, or runtime AI.

Tracing strokes are checked locally against a known letter or number. Paintings and drawings created in activities can be saved on the device; the drawing store does not upload them.

How Information Is Used

  • Authenticate adults and keep each family separated from every other family.
  • Show age- and grade-appropriate learning paths and remember progress per child.
  • Continue play offline and synchronize result events once a device reconnects.
  • Protect child-profile selection, prevent duplicate updates, support deletion, and investigate security or support activity.

Providers And Disclosure

Supabase provides adult authentication and database storage. Cloudflare hosts the website and API. Apple or Google processes an adult's sign-in when a parent chooses that provider. Children have no social sign-in. Providers process information to deliver these services, rather than for Dearly Learned advertising.

Dearly Learned does not sell child or family information and does not disclose it for advertising or behavioral tracking.

Offline And Device Storage

The native app may keep family profiles, progress snapshots, queued result events, a random app-scoped event identifier, and limited child-play sessions on the device so learning can continue offline. PIN material is protected; a selection PIN is not account authentication.

Retention And Deletion

  • Child profiles and progress summaries support continued learning. They are deleted after 24 months without a profile edit, new child session, or accepted learning event.
  • Detailed cloud synchronization events are deleted after 30 days. Minimal event, family, and child identifiers remain with the child profile to prevent offline retries counting the same answer twice.
  • Withdrawing all family consent stops new cloud collection immediately. Child data is deleted after 30 days unless consent is renewed; parents can export or delete sooner.
  • Expired or revoked child sessions, used or expired invitations, and old PIN-attempt records are deleted after 30 days. Application audit and support-access records are deleted after 90 days.
  • Consent evidence is retained while effective and deleted 90 days after revocation, or sooner when its family or account is deleted.
  • Adult accounts and family settings remain while the adult maintains the account. Closing a family removes its child data; removing a caregiver does not delete another adult's family.

Scheduled cleanup runs daily, so a time limit may be followed by up to one day before deletion. A family owner can export or permanently delete a child and progress from Parent Area at any time. Archiving hides a child and is different from deletion.

Offline copies can remain on a disconnected device until the app reconnects and reconciles or the parent removes local data. Exported files saved or shared by a parent are under that parent's control.

Parent Choices

  • Review the child information and progress associated with the family.
  • Export, correct, archive, or permanently delete a child profile and progress.
  • Hide learning paths, reset a selection PIN, revoke consent, and stop future collection.
  • Delete the family from Parent Area, leave a family as a caregiver, and close the adult account after removing its family memberships.

Read The Parent Consent Notice for the direct child-information notice and consent status.

Processing Locations And Provider Records

The family database is hosted by Supabase in Oregon, United States. Cloudflare operates a global network and can process requests outside the United States. Initial App Store availability is limited to the United States; this is not a guarantee that every provider processes data only in the United States.

The current Supabase project does not include user-restorable scheduled backups. Infrastructure providers may retain operational or security records under their own terms. We do not promise a separate, unverified deadline for erasing every provider backup copy.

Security

Dearly Learned uses tenant-scoped database rules, limited child-play sessions, hashed selection PINs, device authentication for the native Parent Area, audited support access, and encrypted network connections. No service can promise absolute security.
